Newton

A tight platformer carved out of fractals you can dive into

Celeste-inspired controls (wall jump, eight-way dash, coyote time) on terrain made of Koch snowflakes and Sierpinski carpets. The glowing shapes are portals: dive into one to replay a smaller version of the world, while Newton and Mandelbrot fractals computed in a shader follow your depth in the background. This prototype plays with keyboard, gamepad or touch.

What shines

  • Levels built from real fractals (Koch curve and snowflake, Sierpinski carpet), with circle-segment collisions on an acceleration grid
  • Recursive diving: entering a glowing shape opens a miniature copy of the level (Recursion rooms ×3, then ×9)
  • Animated WebGL2 background: the z³ − 1 Newton fractal and the Mandelbrot set, with a palette that shifts with depth
  • Celeste-style controller: coyote time, buffered variable-height jump, wall jump, 8-way dash, super jump, abilities unlocked room by room
  • Fully synthesized Web Audio sound, playable with touch, keyboard (arrows, ZQSD or WASD) and gamepad

How to use it

Click "Play", move with the arrows or ZQSD, jump with Space, dash with X and dive with ↓ on a glowing shape (on-screen stick and buttons on mobile)
