Lode

A thumb-friendly Lode Runner tribute with endless, always-solvable levels

A tribute to Lode Runner (1983): grab all the gold, dig through bricks to trap the guards, then escape up the hidden ladder. The game is built for phones, with a forgiving D-pad, and offers two styles: 1983, Apple II-style, or modern with cartoon sprites and a parallax sky. Besides the 8-level campaign, an endless mode generates a level from an 8-character code; a solver checks that it can be completed and the game rates it from 1 to 10.

What shines

  • Endless mode: an 8-character code (e.g. K7QX-92MD) always gives the same level on any device, with a preview before playing and a button to copy the code
  • Built-in solver that checks all the gold is reachable (digging if needed) and the exit is accessible; otherwise it generates a deterministic variant
  • Difficulty estimated from 1 to 10 on a scale calibrated over 4000 codes, also applied to the campaign
  • Faithful 1983 style: the mine drawn into a 220×140 px image, a six-color palette, scaling without smoothing and scanlines
  • Modern style: Kenney sprites, parallax sky, brick shards and gold sparkles

How to use it

D-pad under your thumb (or arrows/ZQSD), left and right DIG buttons (J/K); in endless mode, type or paste a level code
