LeSuperFlair

Get your friends to guess a word, one single-word clue at a time

Inspired by the board game Lexiflaire: one player gets a secret word and has to make the others guess it with one-word clues, against the clock. The game rejects clues that are too close to the target word, accepts small typos in answers, and offers 18 themed dictionaries (Pokémon, Comics & Manga, mythology…) or the import of your own list. Lobby, chat, spectator mode, leaderboard, Google or guest sign-in: all of it was built in four days.

What shines

  • Linguistic anti-cheat: a clue is rejected if it looks too much like the word (Levenshtein distance, shared prefix or suffix) or is implausible (no vowels, runs of consonants, repeated letters)
  • Typo-tolerant answers (one or two errors depending on length) that ignore accents
  • 18 themed dictionaries with difficulty levels, plus importing your own dictionary as .txt/.csv
  • Games for 2 to 6 players, a "3 lives" survival mode, spectators, lobby and in-game chat, a global leaderboard for Google accounts
  • Careful interface: animated color blobs, words floating in the background, dark mode, sounds generated with Web Audio. Animations pause when the tab is hidden, to save battery

How to use it

Sign in with Google or play as a guest, create a game (rounds, number of players, dictionary) or join one. Then give one-word clues or guess the secret word before time runs out.

Made with

  • Firebase Realtime Database 10.12
  • Firebase Auth (Google)
  • Web Audio API (sons synthétisés)
