Guess the word!

Find the hidden word in a real Wikipedia article

Pick a theme ("ocean", "cinema", "philosophy"…) and the game opens a French Wikipedia article and hides a word it finds interesting, skipping a long list of overly common words. You have to find it from context, with the number of letters as your only hint. Typos are tolerated thanks to a Levenshtein distance, and you get three lives and a saved best score.

What shines

  • Endless content: every round draws on a real Wikipedia article on the chosen theme
  • Picking an "interesting" word: stop-word list, words from the title excluded, minimum length
  • Typo-tolerant answers thanks to a Levenshtein distance
  • Article cleanly re-laid out (Lora typeface), hidden word shown as squares with a letter-count hint

How to use it

Type a theme or click a suggestion, read the article, then type the hidden word; Submit, then Continue
