Walk through an endless museum hung with real artworks, which vanishes behind you. Its curator, however, remembers you
An endless first-person museum, on computer and phone alike. Corridors, rooms and staircases build themselves ahead of you and disappear behind, never overlapping: turning back leads somewhere else. The walls carry real artworks drawn at random from a dozen open collections (Art Institute of Chicago, the Met, Cleveland, SMK, V&A, Wikimedia…), plus film posters, game covers, record sleeves and book covers, each with its label and a detailed sheet. A "Director" orchestrates 33 atmospheres (fine arts, backrooms, a forest at night, vaporwave, a sunken museum…) along a tension curve, with smooth blends, airlocks or hard cuts, and scatters oddities: an artwork that changes when you look away, a corridor that repeats, a doorway that walls itself up behind you. Themed wings adapt to what catches your eye; your favourites become a collection, with achievements to unlock.
And then there is the Curator. You never see him. He says little, has his preferences, remembers your last visit, and may have prepared this corridor especially for you. Whether you follow his signs is up to you.
What shines
- An impossible yet consistent space: a graph of modules generated as you walk and destroyed out of sight, with no overlaps and no visible pop-in (360° visibility computed through doorways)
- Real artworks at their true size when known, drawn from 13 open sources through a Cloudflare Worker that aggregates, caches and relays images, with no key in the browser; credits and licences on every label
- A Director that orchestrates surprise: 33 atmospheres with procedural decor and sound, a tension curve, three kinds of transitions and nine oddities
- It adapts to the visitor: lingering in front of an artwork, opening its sheet or favouriting it makes related wings more likely (same artist, same decade, films or games "in the same vein")
- Built for phones: joystick plus touch or gyroscope look, quality that adapts to the frame rate, memory checked by an automated leak test
How to use it
On a phone: joystick on the left to walk, swipe on the right to look (or the gyroscope, in the menu), tap an artwork to open its sheet and keep it in your collection. On a keyboard: WASD/ZQSD or arrows, mouse to look, click or E to open an artwork, C for the collection, Esc for the menu (auto-walk, quality, accessibility).
